Accessibility statement

Last reviewed and updated: 17 October 2026

This English version is provided for convenience. The Hebrew version is the binding text and prevails in any case of discrepancy.

The Israeli Jazz Council (NPO) is committed to making this website and its services accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities, in line with the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Act, 1998, and the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 2013.

The website is designed and built to conform to Israeli Standard IS 5568 Part 1, which is based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0, at level AA.

This statement covers the Association's website and the personal area, in Hebrew and English, and the forms and documents they produce.

Contents

1.Accessibility measures

  • Full keyboard operation on every page, with a skip-to-content link at the top of each page.
  • A clearly visible focus indicator on every interactive element.
  • Semantic structure with landmarks, a logical heading hierarchy and accessible names for every button and icon, for screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack).
  • Text contrast of at least 4.5:1, verified for every colour pair in the design system.
  • The operating system's reduced-motion setting is honoured — animations and transitions are switched off.
  • Full support for Hebrew (right to left) and English (left to right), with the language and direction declared on every page.
  • Videos the association publishes carry captions or a transcript.
  • Forms with labels tied to their fields, explicit error messages announced to screen readers, and touch targets of at least 44 px.

2.Testing and compatibility

Accessibility is checked with automated tests (axe-core) and manual checks of keyboard navigation and of the layout at desktop, tablet and phone widths. The site supports current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, and is built to work with common screen readers such as NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver and TalkBack.

You can zoom up to 200% with your browser's zoom (Ctrl and +) without losing content or functionality. Every page also has an accessibility menu (the floating button): larger text, high contrast, grayscale, highlighted links, a readable font, line spacing, stopping animations and a large cursor. The menu is an extra — the accommodations themselves are built into the site's code.

A full manual test with screen readers has not been completed yet; it will be carried out in the next accessibility review.

3.Known limitations

  • Embedded third-party players and content (such as YouTube) follow their provider's accessibility.
  • PDF receipts are tagged for accessibility but have not yet been fully verified with PAC.
  • A visual audit against the design-system artboards has not been carried out yet; the artboards are not available.

4.Third-party content and services

The payment company's payment page, Google sign-in and embedded players (YouTube, Spotify) are operated by third parties, whose accessibility is their responsibility, so conformance for them is partial. Content uploaded by users, such as photos and biographies in the members directory, is not under the Association's control.

If such a component is not accessible to you, contact us and we will help you complete the action another way.

5.Documents

Tickets, receipts and signing documents are produced as PDF files. If a file is not accessible to you, we will send you its content in an accessible format on request.

6.Accessibility at events

The Association holds and produces events at third-party venues across Israel. Information about a venue's accessibility, such as the route from parking or public transport, accessible seating, accessible toilets and assistive listening systems, appears on the event page when we have it, and is also available on request.

You can ask for accommodations at an event, such as a wheelchair space, a suitable seat if you are accompanied by a service dog, free entry for a companion where the law provides it, guidance to your seat and an assistive listening system, and, at talks and other mainly spoken events, sign-language interpretation or captions. Contact us using the details under "Accessibility contact". We recommend writing at least a week before the event, and we will make every effort to meet later requests too. Accommodations are free of charge.

7.Accessibility contact
