1.General

1.1

These terms apply to joining Israeli Jazz Council (registered non-profit association) (the "Association") through the Site and to managing your membership there. Members' rights and duties are set by the Association Bylaws and the Associations Law, 5740-1980; on any question of membership rights, the Bylaws prevail.

1.2

These terms are subject to the law, including the Consumer Protection Law, 5741-1981, insofar as it applies, and do not limit any right the law gives a member.

2.The Association

Name
Israeli Jazz Council (registered non-profit association)

3.Who Can Join

3.1

Membership is open to people and organisations who meet the conditions of the Bylaws and of the membership plan they choose, as described on the membership page. Under section 15 of the Associations Law, a member must be at least 17.

3.2

The student plan requires a valid student card; the institution or organisation plan requires the organisation's details and a contact person. The Association may ask for further documents to check eligibility for a plan.

4.Applying and Approval

4.1

You join through the Site: open an account, complete the application, accept the declarations in the Bylaws and sign electronically. The application then goes to the Association's committee.

4.2

The committee decides on the application, usually within 14 business days, and the decision is sent by email. A rejection can be appealed as the Bylaws provide. Membership begins once the application is approved and the dues are paid.

4.3

The details in the application are entered in the register of members as section 18 of the Associations Law requires. Under section 39 of that Law, the register is open to inspection by the Association's members. More in the Privacy Policy.

5.Electronic Signature

5.1

The application is signed electronically under the Electronic Signature Law, 5761-2001, after your email address is verified. You agree that the signature binds you as a handwritten one would. The Association keeps an evidence record of the signature, including the times, IP address, browser details, a cryptographic digest of the document and a certified timestamp, as described in the Privacy Policy.

5.2

When signing is complete, the signed application and the evidence report are sent to you as PDF files. Where the Association offers a certified signature through a certification authority, the option is shown during signing.

6.Dues and the Membership Period

6.1

Dues depend on your membership plan and are shown on the membership page and in the personal area before you pay. Each period is charged at the dues shown when you paid for it.

6.2

A membership period lasts one year (12 months) from payment, and its end date is shown in the personal area and on your member card. You pay by credit card on the payment company's secure page, and a receipt is sent for every payment. Dues are not a donation and do not qualify for a section 46 receipt under the Income Tax Ordinance.

6.3

The benefits of each plan are listed on the membership page. The Association may change dues and benefits for future periods; a change applies only from the period after notice of it is given.

7.Renewal

7.1

Renewal reminders are sent before the period ends: 30 days and 7 days before, and on the last day. You renew in the personal area, on the membership and payment page, and the new period starts when the previous one ends.

7.2

Renewing with a saved card. You can save a credit card and turn on "Auto-renew" in the personal area. In line with section 13A of the Consumer Protection Law, membership does not renew by itself: between 60 and 30 days before the period ends, you will be sent a renewal offer, by email and in the personal area, stating the end date, the plan and the dues for the next period. If you gave a mobile number, you will also get an SMS reminder 21 days before the end.

7.3

Your saved card is charged, one day before the period ends, only if you confirmed the renewal in the personal area. If you did not confirm, the card is not charged, the membership ends on its end date, and you can renew at any time. If you confirmed less than 30 days before the end, you may withdraw your confirmation during the first 30 days of the new period and receive a full refund, and during those days the dues and terms will not change to your disadvantage.

7.4

If the charge fails, we try again every day until 7 days after the end of the period and let you know each time. You can turn off auto-renew or remove the saved card at any time in the personal area, and no charge will be made from then on.

8.Cancellation, Resignation and Refunds

8.1

Cancelling within 14 days. Under section 14C of the Consumer Protection Law, you may cancel a dues payment within 14 days of paying, or of receiving the payment confirmation if that came later. Your membership then ends, and the dues are refunded less the proportion for the time that has passed and less a cancellation fee of 5% or ₪100, whichever is lower, within 14 days of your notice and to the same payment method.

8.2

Stopping renewal. At any time you can choose "Cancel membership" in the personal area: the membership stays valid until the end of the paid period and is not renewed, and you can change your mind until then. After the first 14 days, dues for the current period are not refunded, except where the law requires.

8.3

Resigning. A member may resign from the Association by notice to the committee, as the Bylaws and section 16 of the Associations Law provide. You can send the notice to info@jazzcouncil.org.il or through the form on the Cancel a transaction page.

8.4

Termination by the Association. A member may be expelled only on grounds set out in the Bylaws and after a fair opportunity to be heard.

8.5

You can give notice of cancellation in the personal area, through the form on the Cancel a transaction page, by email to info@jazzcouncil.org.il, by phone on 052-258-0547 or by registered mail to the Association's address.

9.Members' Undertakings

9.1

Members act in accordance with the Bylaws and the decisions of the Association's bodies, give accurate details and keep them up to date in the personal area, and upload to their profile and the directory only content they are entitled to publish, as set out in the Terms of Use.

9.2

Membership is personal and cannot be transferred (section 17 of the Associations Law). The member card and its QR code are for the member's own use only.

10.Changes and Contact

10.1

The Association may update these terms. A material change applies from the period after notice of it is given and never alters a period already paid for. Questions: info@jazzcouncil.org.il or 052-258-0547.
