1.General

1.1

Israeli Jazz Council (registered non-profit association) (the "Association") thanks every donor. This policy applies to donations made on the Site. A donation is a gift to the Association to advance its aims, within the meaning of the Gift Law, 5728-1968, and not a purchase of goods or services.

1.2

Donations fund the Association's activities in line with its aims and Bylaws, and the Association decides how they are used. A donation restricted to a particular purpose is accepted only by prior written agreement.

3.How to Donate

3.1

You can give once or monthly, in an amount of your choice of at least ₪ 10. Payment is by credit card or another method offered on the payment company's secure page. The Association never sees or stores your full card details; for a monthly donation an encrypted token is kept so that later charges can be made.

3.2

After each payment you will receive a thank-you and a receipt. If you donated without signing in, an account is created for you to manage your donations, or the donation is linked to the existing account with the email address you gave.

4.Monthly Donations

4.1

A monthly donation is charged once a month, on the same day of the month as the first gift, until you cancel it. You can change the amount, replace the card, pause, resume or cancel it at any time in the donations area of your account, or by writing to info@jazzcouncil.org.il.

4.2

Cancellation takes effect at once: no further charge is made, and you receive a confirmation. You can also cancel the payment authorisation through your card issuer, under the Payment Services Law, 5779-2019; the Association stops charging as soon as it learns of it.

4.3

If a charge fails, we try again and let you know. After three consecutive failures the monthly donation stops, and you can restart it with another card.

5.Receipts and the Section 46 Tax Credit

5.1

A receipt is issued for every donation and every monthly charge; it is emailed to you and available in the donations area. The Association is not a VAT-registered dealer, so no VAT is charged or shown. An annual summary of your donations can also be downloaded from the donations area.

5.2

When the Association holds a valid approval under section 46 of the Income Tax Ordinance, you can ask for a section 46 receipt, which shows the approval number and its validity. Such a receipt requires your full name and ID number; the ID number is stored encrypted and used only to issue the receipt and to report to the Israel Tax Authority, as its rules require.

5.3

Under section 46, an individual who donates to an approved public institution is entitled to a tax credit of 35% of the donations made in the tax year, when the total exceeds the minimum set by the Tax Authority and up to the statutory ceiling. Actual entitlement depends on each donor's circumstances, so please consult an accountant or the Tax Authority's guidance.

5.4

Membership dues and ticket payments are not donations and do not qualify for a section 46 receipt.

6.Dedications

6.1

You can dedicate a donation in honour or in memory of someone. The honoree's name appears on the receipt and in the thank-you message, and if you ask, a notice of the dedication is sent to the email address you provide. The Association uses that address only to send the notice and never adds it to mailing lists. Please give the address of someone who is happy to receive such a notice.

7.Anonymous Giving and the Donor Wall

7.1

You can give anonymously: your name is not shown publicly, neither on the donor wall nor in the Association's publications. The Association itself knows who the donor is, to issue the receipt and meet its legal obligations.

7.2

The donor wall and donor directory show only donors who chose to appear and did not give anonymously, under the name they chose, grouped by cumulative giving level. You can withdraw at any time in the personal area or by contacting us.

8.Refunds

8.1

As a rule, donations are not refunded. A donation made by mistake, such as a wrong amount or a duplicate charge, or a charge you did not authorise, will be refunded after checking if you contact us promptly at info@jazzcouncil.org.il or through the form on the Cancel a transaction page. Refunds go back to the same payment method.

8.2

Refunding a donation that received a section 46 receipt requires cancelling the receipt and reporting the cancellation to the Tax Authority.

9.Privacy and Contact

9.1

Donors' details are used to process the donation, issue receipts, report to the authorities as required and send service messages, as described in the Privacy Policy. The Association never sells or passes on donor lists. Donation requests and news are sent under section 30A of the Communications Law, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
